How we rank offers, and how we get paid
You should know what a comparison site is optimising for before you trust its ordering. Here is ours, in full.
How we make money
Loan24x7 is free for you to use. You never pay us a fee, and we never take a cut of your loan. We are paid a referral fee by a lending partner when someone we send to them goes on to take a loan. That is our only revenue.
That is a real commercial interest, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. So rather than hide it, we cap how much it can influence what you see — and publish the cap.
What happens before ranking
Ordering only matters among offers you can actually get, so before anything is ranked we remove every partner you are not eligible for. A partner is excluded outright if:
- you fall outside their age range;
- they do not lend to people who earn the way you do;
- your income is below their minimum;
- your entire credit score band sits below their minimum score;
- they do not lend where you live;
- the instalment would push your total monthly repayments above 50% of your income, even at the longest tenure they offer.
That last one costs us money — it removes offers you might well have clicked. We apply it anyway, because a loan you cannot service is worse for you than no loan, and a lender who rejects you is worse for us than not showing them.
How the survivors are ordered
Each remaining offer is scored out of 100 on five factors. Nothing else is considered:
How likely you are to be approved
How far your income sits above that partner’s minimum. The more headroom you have over their floor, the higher this scores. It is the largest single factor because an offer you will be rejected for is worth nothing to you.
How close the offer is to what you asked for
An offer that covers the full amount you asked for scores full marks. One that only covers part of it scores proportionally less.
How cheap it is
The partner’s lowest advertised APR, compared against the other offers you matched. The cheapest in your set scores full marks.
How fast the money arrives
The partner’s typical disbursal time, again relative to the others you matched.
What the partner pays us
This is the commercial factor, and it is capped at 5 points out of 100. That cap is not a policy we could quietly relax — it is a constant in the code, and it exists so a better-fitting offer always outranks a better-paying one.
Where two offers score the same, we break the tie on the lower interest rate first, then the larger amount, then alphabetically — so the same answers always produce the same order. We show at most 8 offers by default, because a longer list makes the decision harder rather than better; the rest are one tap away.
The browse pages are ordered differently, and here is how
Everything above describes your matched offers — the list you see after answering the questions, scored against your income, your amount and where you live. The browse pages work on a different problem. On all loan offers nobody has told us anything yet, so there is nothing to personalise against and we do not pretend otherwise. That list is in a fixed house order which is identical for every visitor.
Two rules set it, in this order:
- Where the introduction goes through. 28 of our 48 listings are reached through the ZET Partner network, where we have the least visibility into what happens after you leave us. Those are placed below every other listing, whatever their score — not because the lenders are worse, but because we can stand behind the introduction less firmly.
- A rank score out of 5.000. Set by which network the introduction goes through and how wide a range of loan sizes the partner writes — a lender who will write anything from ₹5,000 to ₹5,00,000 is useful to more readers than one who stops at ₹35,000. Three decimal places, so that with 48 listings no two ever tie and the order cannot wobble between visits.
Two things that score is not. It is not a customer rating — we do not collect reviews, and the rule below still stands. And it is not a judgement about interest rates, approval odds or service, because the lenders on those pages publish none of that to us; that is the same reason the browse cards show an amount range and no APR. When you answer the questions, the hundred-point scoring above takes over and this ordering stops applying.
What we do not do
- We do not accept payment to place a lender at the top of your results.
- We do not show fake urgency: no countdown timers, no “12 people are viewing this”, no invented scarcity.
- We do not publish reviews or star ratings we cannot attribute to a real customer. The rank score on the browse pages is labelled as our own ordering and carries no star, precisely so it cannot be mistaken for one.
- We do not pre-tick marketing consent, and marketing consent never gates the form.
- We do not sell your data. Your details go to the lender you choose, and to nobody else.
If you think the ranking is wrong
Tell us. If an offer we showed you turned out to be one you were never eligible for, that is a bug in our matching rules and we want to know about it — it is the single most useful feedback you can give us.
